Jindal’s Brilliant Take on Radical Islam - Larry Kudlow - Townhall Finance Conservative Columnists and Financial Commentary - Page 1
I certainly wish people would tell it like this, which is telling it like it is...
At Townhall.com, Larry Kudlow writes about Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's opinions:
"Jindal says, 'Muslim leaders must make clear that anyone who commits acts of terror in the name of Islam is in fact not practicing Islam at all. If they refuse to say this, then they are condoning these acts of barbarism. There is no middle ground.'
Then he adds, specifically, 'Muslim leaders need to condemn anyone who commits these acts of violence and clearly state that these people are evil and are enemies of Islam. It’s not enough to simply condemn violence, they must stand up and loudly proclaim that these people are not martyrs who will receive a reward in the afterlife, and rather they are murderers who are going to hell. If they refuse to do that, then they’re part of the problem. There is no middle ground here.'"

"Same Leftists Defaming Chris Kyle as 'Killer' Wanted Every Iraqi Dead"
Here's one writers view of the hypocritical criticism of the main character in the "American Sniper" movie...
At Breitbart.com, John Nolte has nothing nice to say about those critics:
"Because they are freaked out over what the critical and box office success ($105 million opening weekend) of 'American Sniper' might mean for our culture and on Oscar night, the very same Hollywood Left (and Left in general) who poured their wicked hearts and souls into a campaign that would have resulted in the murder of millions of innocent Iraqis, are now falsely accusing American hero Chris Kyle of murdering Iraqis."

"Planned Parenthood kills 1,000 times as many blacks as cops do"
Don't miss the recorded call involving a prospective donor...
Bryan Fischer has the story at OneNewsNow.com:
"Now the low-information media was aflame for a good part of 2014 with breathless and hyperbolic stories of young black men killed by white cops. The media did its best to create the impression that frenzied and racist cops were gunning down unarmed black men at an epidemic rate.
But the facts tell a different story. According to the CDC, cops killed 123 black men in 2012. And the vast majority of these involved the justifiable use of force.
When we juxtapose these numbers, a sobering picture emerges. Cops kill 123 black men in a year while Planned Parenthood performs 117,953 abortions on black women a year. Now 117,953 is nearly 1,000 times larger than 123 (958.98 to be precise)."

For some categories of people breaking the law is apparently OK...
At Breitbart.com, Adelle Nazarian reports on this:
"The policy, issued last year and effective as of Jan. 1, 2015, directs DMV investigators to overlook identity theft by applicants 'who may have attempted to obtain or been issued a license or ID card previously through submission of false information.'"

"Meteorologist Joe D'Aleo: 'We will have had 14 major impact storms this decade (only half over) beating out the 10 in the 1960s and 2000s.'
Meanwhile, As the snow piles up, climate change activists are already blaming the blizzard on 'global warming':"

"Total milk intake dropped by nearly half when chocolate milk removed from school program"
Doesn't anybody think this stuff through BEFORE implementation?...
On the MDnewsDaily website we find this, and the rest of the story:
"Studies show that milk is very important for children's health as it contain many nutrients for growth and development. Sufficient amounts of calcium and vitamin D are required during childhood and adolescence because a significant amount of adult bone mass is accrued during this time. Milk is a good source of these nutrients as well as other important nutrients. Unfortunately without school-based milk programs, children are not likely getting enough."
"30,000 Surveillance Cameras Monitor D.C.-Area Public Schools"
That being said, plain old math (50 cameras times 600 schools equals 30,000).
That's really pretty many...
At NBC Washington D.C., Scott MacFarlane recently reported on this:
"The cameras offer video footage for use in solving crimes or investigating security incidents inside buildings.
But the images have grown too numerous to regularly monitor by security staffs, the News4 review showed."

Inner City Turmoil and Other Crises: My Predictions for 2015 - Ron Paul
In his own words, Ron Paul gives his long take on things, including this:
"To keep the people obedient to statism that originated at the federal level of government, control of education was required. It is now recognized that central control of education has actually ruined education, while costs have skyrocketed. National control of medical care has brought a similar result. This has meant more money for bureaucrats, as well as drug, insurance, and health management companies, and less money for medical care. Constantly more police are required to run our lives at greater costs while providing less benefit. 'Nationalizing' both medical care and education has provided a great incentive to increase the policing powers of the federal government.
The predictable poverty that results from such a terrible system is now upon us and is a strong motivation for the militarization of local police as part of the expansion of the national police state. Temporary and perceived benefits of government overreach and expanded policing powers end up becoming the real problem. By the time it is understood that these 'benefits' are artificial, government power and special interests have gained control of a system designed to serve them and not the people the programs were purported to help. The victims are left hanging and taught that too much freedom is the source of the problem, prompting even more support for the policing power of the state."

Politicians - N.Y. Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver
In the New York Daily News, Kenneth Lovett, John Marzulli, & Greg B. Smith let us know all the details:
"'For many years, New Yorkers have asked the question, ‘How could Speaker Silver, one of the most powerful men in New York, earn millions of dollars in outside income without deeply compromising his ability to honestly serve his constituents?’' said Bharara.
'Today we provide the answer: He didn’t.'
The stunning five-count criminal complaint accused the Manhattan Democrat, an Albany power broker for decades, with pocketing millions in bribes and kickbacks in return for wielding his massive influence."
The Economic State of the Union in 7 Charts | The Fiscal Times
At theFiscalTimes.com, Yuval Rosenberg did some of that for us:
"Obama has already been touting the economic gains. 'So the good news is the economy has picked up speed,' he said in a speech last week urging Congress to require employers to give workers seven paid sick days a year. 'We are past the point of crisis. We've seen 58 straight months of job growth. We have seen 11 million jobs created. The economy is stable and is building momentum. Now we have to make sure that that economy is benefiting everybody.'
That, as you’ll see in the charts below, remains a serious challenge, and will be the subject of great policy debates as Democrats and Republicans look ahead to the 2016 elections. With that in mind, here’s a look at where the U.S. economy stands:"

Montage: 112 Unkept Promises from Earlier Obama SOTU Addresses :: Grabien
Just a reminder: a promise is NOT an accomplishment...
I found this on the Grabien.com website:
"The media are already analyzing the new proposals President Obama is set to layout this evening in his sixth annual State of the Union address (seventh if you count his unofficial 2009 address). Here at Grabien, we're also looking at results. Taking a look back at past SOTU promises, How many actually ever materialized?
The numbers aren't pretty. From 2009 through 2014, we count 112 promises that to date remain unfulfilled.
We should also note that many of these promises are duplicated from one year to another. For example, every year he has pledged to pass comprehensive immigration reform, overhaul corporate taxes, reduce regulations, and close Guantanamo Bay.
The full list is below."

RIGZONE - The Debate About Fracturing Must Be Based On Sound Science
At RigZone.com, Alex Mills writes that we shouldn't believe it:
"Hydraulic fracturing has been accused by environmental groups of everything from polluting water supplies to contaminating the air to causing cancer to inducing earthquakes.
The hysteria they have been able to create has people scared to death (no pun intended). Some residents have become so frightened that citizens have asked their city officials to prohibit hydraulic fracturing within the city limits.
Texas cities - such as College Station, Mansfield, Azle, Reno, Presidio, Alpine and, of course, Denton, which did pass a referendum banning hydraulic fracturing within the city – have all discussed banning the technology. However, all of these claims have been proven false."
"Will School Lunches Destroy Progressivism?"
I can only hope that this writer is correct, and tomorrow's voters wake up to the perils of progressivism...
Rodney L. Pearson includes this in his writing at AmericanThinker.com:
"The advances in personal use technology is also opening up revolutionary channels of communication that help reveal the truth about the progressive agenda. Kids today no longer rely on passive exposure to mainstream news -- they are the news. This generation uses social media to tell its story. If a progressive program like school lunch requirements causes hardships, the world will know it immediately. The message catches fire and there is nothing the doctors of spin can do about it. Tweets that circulate the web stating that they 'would like to see Michelle Obama try and eat the school lunches we are forced to eat' have a profound impact. Perhaps, we are in the initial stages of an awakening by the next generation of Americans and the end of progressivism as we know it."

"Since President Barack Obama took office on Jan. 20, 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued 3,120 new final regulations, equaling 27,854 pages in the Federal Register, totaling approximately 27,854,000 words."
"Evidence discovered that 'ocean acidification' scare may be as fraudulent as 'global warming'"
On the American Thinker website, Thomas Lifson recently posted about this:
"A startling discovery by a graduate student has uncovered what looks like a fraud remarkably parallel to the infamous 'Hockey stick' graph of Michael Mann that purported to show global temperatures skyrocketing when atmospheric CO2 rose, but only did so because 'hide the decline' was the operating principle in selecting data. For those who have not been keeping up with the alarmist follies, alleged ocean acidification has joined and supplemented the rapidly-fading alleged global warming threat as an urgent reason to stop emitting CO2, and hand money and power over to regulators who would control the production of energy, the very basis of modern life.
The theory is that adding atmospheric CO2 leads to the acidification of the world’s oceans, and this profoundly alters the ecosystem, endangering sea life. As Marita Noon of CFACT.org, who first publicized the discovery of the suspected fraud, writes:"

Why Gun-Control Advocates Lie about Guns | National Review Online
Gun-control advocates seem to be less than perfect reporters of facts...
On the National Review website last month, Charles C.W. Cooke took issue with gun-control advocates and this writer in particular:
"Angered by the news that American voters are now more supportive of the Second Amendment than they have been in two decades, the New York Daily News’s Mike Lupica used his weekend column to vent. Over the course of 900 words, Lupica lambasted the public for continuing 'to protect gun nuts,' chided the 'mouth-breathing' NRA for its murderous myopia, and contended emotively that 'there are no words' available to describe the horror of 'a recent poll that says a majority of Americans believe it is more important to protect the right to own guns than it is for the government to limit access to guns.'
And then, having established his moral bona fides for all to see, he tried to sneak a brazen lie past his audience:"

"Christians Rally to Defend Fire Chief Who Wrote ‘Anti-Gay’ Book"
Todd Starnes has the story behind this at Townhall.com:
"Reed told reporters Cochran was not fired because of his religious beliefs. Rather, he said, the fire chief was ousted because of poor judgment. The mayor accused the chief of not getting permission to write the book – a charge Cochran denies.
The mayor also alleged Cochran distributed the book to members of the fire department. Cochran readily admits that he gave copies of the book to close associates within the department. It should be noted that the individual who initially complained about the book did not receive a copy from the fire chief.
And for the record – a city investigation determined the fire chief had not discriminated against LGBT employees."

On many social issues, those that preach tolerance, are the most intolerant...
On his website, Walid Shoebat gives us some examples:
"So Shoebat.com decided to call some 13 prominent pro-gay bakers in a row. Each one denied us the right to have 'Gay Marriage Is Wrong' on a cake and even used deviant insults and obscenities against us. One baker even said all sorts of profanities against Christians and ended the conversation by saying that she will make me a cookie with a large phallus on it.
It was all recorded. It will stun the American people as to how militant and intolerant the homosexual bakers were. Even after we completed our experiment we got a ton of hate messages saying that we were 'hateful' for simply giving them a taste of their own medicine."
2014: The Year The Liberal Lies Died - Kurt Schlichter
Even with 24/7 news coverage, reporting is still selective; and that's where the powers that be have always been able to to exert their influence and control.
Now, there is opportunity for change..
At Townhall.com, Kurt Schlichter recently posted:
"But it is only recently that we saw the rise of a truly free press as technology put a camera in everyone’s cellphone and conservative new media (including social media) created a path around the gates that the liberal mainstream media kept.
The mainstream media used to get to decide what was and was not the truth. But the truth has been set free, and the mainstream media has been revealed as the guardian of the lies that the liberal establishment needs to fool normal Americans just enough to secure their votes. That’s why we should laugh and cheer at the mainstream media’s agonized death throes.
Let’s look at a few of the lies we saw collapse in 2014. Not one would have been revealed if the mainstream media was still in control."

Mr. Littlejohn is one of them and political correctness is not his forte'...
In the U.K. Daily Mail, Ricard Littlejohn begins his critical column with:
"Call me an old cynic, but why were all those ‘world leaders’ marching through Paris on Sunday? Naturally, the French wanted to vent their grief, commemorate their dead and publicly demonstrate their defiance.
What, however, were all those foreign presidents and prime ministers doing there? Showing solidarity is one thing, but this smacked of a synchronised selfie.
They looked as if they were about to break in to the hokey-cokey."
"Obama amnesty for illegal immigrants to impose billions in costs on states"
Keep reminding yourself: the government does NOT have it's own money.
The money talked about here is OUR money...
The money talked about here is OUR money...
In the Washington Times, Stephen Dinan wants us to know:
"President Obama’s new deportation amnesty will impose 'billions of dollars in costs' on states, they told a federal court this week — including more than $130 for each Texas driver’s license issued to illegal immigrants under the policy.
More than 1,100 pages of documents submitted by Texas and two dozen other states suing to stop the amnesty detail the costs in depth, and include sworn affidavits from state officials, federal immigration officers and others arguing that the amnesty will increase illegal immigration, leaving the states with even bigger burdens.
Wisconsin said the illegal immigrants granted amnesty would be eligible to apply for concealed weapons permits at a cost to state taxpayers. Indiana said it will end up paying unemployment benefits to the illegal immigrants. And in Texas, officials said they’ll have to hire more than 100 new employees to process hundreds of thousands of driver’s license applications, with state taxpayers shelling out more than $130 per applicant."

Obama AWOL in Paris: Message to America, allies is we don't care | Fox News
It continues to make me, and others, wonder what he is doing here...
On the FoxNews website, Douglas E. Schoen posits that Mr. Obama's actions are showing the world something different than they might expect:
"Sunday, President Obama morally abdicated his place as the leader of the free world. His decision to stay home instead of standing side by side with French President Hollande as millions marched in Paris in solidarity with the slain journalists of Charlie Hebdo in opposition to radical Islam – an enemy fiercer than we have seen in decades – sent a clear message to the world: Obama just doesn’t care. His words about the horrendous terrorist attack this week were not enough. They came off as inauthentic at best and offensive at worst."

Those that were against it, are now benefiting from it.
On a side note, the media had it all wrong, too...
On the Jewish World Review website, Victor Davis Hanson discusses the favorable consequences expanded oil drilling in the United States:
"Then, finally, oil and gas prices plunged due to the 'drill, baby, drill,' can-do attitude of the private sector. Americans should thank the U.S. oilman -- from the drillers in the field to the engineers behind the scenes -- who did the impossible. They vastly increased the supply of what was supposedly a permanently declining resource, and thereby helped to crash prices.
Oilmen, not the government, returned hundreds of billions of dollars to American consumers. They, not Ivy League experts and Wall Street grandees, kick-started the economy where federal subsidies had failed to. They, not the policies of the Obama administration or the rhetoric of Secretary of State John Kerry, weakened our enemies."
"Study: Your all-electric car may not be so green" - Associated Press
Seth Borenstein calls attention to this as if it was new:

Ethanol isn't so green, either.
'It's kind of hard to beat gasoline" for public and environmental health, said study co-author Julian Marshall, an engineering professor at the University of Minnesota. "A lot of the technologies that we think of as being clean ... are not better than gasoline.'"

What they found wasn’t reassuring. The researchers, led by Christina Korownyk of the University of Alberta, charged medical research either didn’t substantiate — or flat out contradicted — more than half of Oz’s recommendations. 'Recommendations made on medical talk shows often lack adequate information on specific benefits or the magnitude of the effects of these benefits,' the article said. '… The public should be skeptical about recommendations made on medical talk shows.'"

"Michelle Obama's School Lunch Program Based on Junk Science"
This article contains much more than Michelle Obama's involvement...
On the PJmedia website, Rand Simberg writes the government's involvement:
"Buried deep in the ObamaCare law, the gift from the Democrats to the nation that keeps on giving, chain restaurants are required to start labeling calories on all of their menu items. The law applies to vending-machine items as well. It’s proven to be a nightmare for small business and franchises, adding cost (which will have to be passed on to the diner, if they choose to pay it). In the case of things like 'order your own' sandwiches or pizza, it is almost impossible to implement. As with much of the poorly written misbegotten law, it is unclear whether it applies to things like food trucks, or what the penalty is for non-compliance. Despite the uncertainty, overall cost has been estimated to be half a billion dollars, which will be 'eaten' by consumers."
"Colleges consider how flexible to be with students protesting killings of unarmed black men"
Scott Jaschik reports on the issue on the InsideHighRed website:
"At Oberlin College this week, the president rejected a petition signed by more than 1,000 students demanding no failing grades this semester. Student activism over decisions by grand juries not to indict police officers for the deaths of unarmed back men in Missouri and New York remains strong. And unlike most student protest movements, this one has extended into finals -- and has some students asking for flexibility on grades or exams, and others taking the unusual step of protesting in libraries during a period when student stress about academics is high."

"Millennial ‘divas’ too spoiled for corporate world, study suggests"
In the Washington Times, Jessica Chasmar informs us:
"A survey conducted by Duke University and CFO Magazine found that millennials are thought to need more management in the workplace and are more likely to quit their jobs arbitrarily, despite making less money than previous generations and facing higher unemployment, CBS News reported.
More than 1,000 chief financial officers worldwide gave their opinions about millennials in the survey. Some 70 percent had positive things to say about their technological savvy, and 21 percent said they were more creative and innovative than previous generations, CBS News reported.
But more than half of CFOs said millennials are lacking in company loyalty, and 46 percent said they have an inflated sense of entitlement. Thirty-one percent said millennials need more hand-holding, and 27 percent said millennials are more interested in the development of themselves rather than the development of the company, CBS News reported."

When the desire to "get" someone causes stupidity, it's a bit fun to watch...
At CNN.com, Ruben Navarrette posted this story about PETA's double standards:
"Palin struck back by zeroing in with the real reason that groups like PETA have lost influence and credibility: the double standard they employ, denouncing certain behavior by the people they oppose while excusing the same behavior by people they support. Where was the organization last year, she asked, when the liberal talk show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, posted a similar photo of a girl standing on a dog? Back then, PETA was AWOL.

"The Sins That Come From Being a Busybody... "
On the Archdiocese of Washington website, Msgr. Charles Pope opens his posting with this:
"The term 'busybody' usually refers to one who is intent on the matters of others but looks little to his own issues. Busybodies also tend to focus especially on the faults, foibles, and troubles of other folks. Seldom are they chattering away about good news related to other people; more often it is the scurrilous and scandalous that occupy their minds.
Merriam-Webster online defines a busybody as 'a person who is too interested in the private lives of other people.' It is a form of sinful curiosity."
No, Bill Bratton, The Post doesn’t hate de Blasio — we just love cops | New York Post
Actually, it's pleasant to see this newspaper stand up...
In the New York Post, Michael Goodwin offers this and more:
"Blaming the media for the crisis engulfing City Hall, Bratton accused this paper of 'hating' Mayor Bill de Blasio and said, 'If the cops are reading The Post, they’re not going to like the mayor, because it’s hanging the mayor 24 hours a day.' Then he attacked The New York Times, saying it doesn’t like de Blasio 'because he’s not far enough to the left for where they want to be.'
Sob, sob — poor de Blasio, everybody’s picking on him. “This guy’s heart is in the right place,” Bratton insisted. 'He likes cops. He appreciates what they do.'

"PETA silent as groups push for answers about stolen dog"
At WAVY.com, Erin Kelly reported on this one:
"Wilbur Cerate owned the dog, named Maya. He said one weekend in October he discovered the dog was missing. He checked surveillance video, which shows a PETA van pull up, two workers get out, and one snatch the dog off his porch.
“I was angry. I understand they pick up my dog, if it was in a tree or another place, but this is in my house,” Cerate told 10 On Your Side.
The two women from PETA came back to his house three days later, he said. They brought a fruit basket and terrible news — Maya had been euthanized. He said they didn’t provide any proof, so he called police and thought the women would be held accountable.
WAVY News has made repeated attempts to contact PETA about the case, including phone calls and emails to their offices in Norfolk and Washington, D.C. Two WAVY reporters have visited the Norfolk headquarters twice this week — both times, a receptionist referred questions to the D.C. office, which has not returned any calls."
