The Enemy of the American People

Whoever would have thought getting honest and accurate news would be an issue?...
Jeff Crouere offers this and more in his recent Townhall.com post:
"Unfortunately, journalism has become corrupted through the years. In the past, great reporters only had a commitment to undercover the truth, no matter the political consequences. Today, journalism has become infected with a toxic liberalism. Progressive reporters focus their energies on pursuing stories that will harm Republicans, especially conservatives. Their greatest joy is to undercover or report negative stories about President Donald Trump, a person they truly despise. In fact, many of these corrupt liberal reporters have no qualms about manufacturing negative Trump stories if necessary. "

ICE Just Arrested Dozens of Illegal Aliens in a Sanctuary City...

And the democrats are against this?...
On Thursday, Katie Pavlich posted about this at Townhall.com:
"'Of those arrested, 16 subjects had been previously released by MCJ without honoring the ICE detainer and 78% had prior criminal convictions or pending criminal charges. The individuals arrested as part of the operation were nationals of Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, and Turkey,' ICE released Friday.

'These individuals range from 21 to 68 years old and all were previously arrested or convicted of a variety of offenses. Some of the arrests and convictions included: aggravated criminal sexual contact, aggravated assault, DUI, hindering apprehension, endangering the welfare of a child, battery, theft, burglary, possession of a weapon, forgery, domestic violence assault, disorderly conduct, and illegal entry.'"

The Zombie Media

The media is losing, and don't seem capable of changing...
In this American Thinker post, E. M. Cadwaladr takes some healthy shots at the media. Here's one:
"The playbook of the leftist media isn't a particularly thick volume, but it's all they know.

In the absence of any success, except among the bitter brainwashed progeny of what passes for universities, they have little choice but to carry out the instruction on their playbook's last page: when all else fails – repeat, repeat, repeat! While it is true that repetition has a certain power to convince, it does have limits.

You can sway a few weak minds by publicizing and politicizing every single cop-shoots-black-man incident in the country, but the Trump-is-Putin's-puppet narrative gets a little old when the best you can come up with are campaign people speaking to miscellaneous Russians about nothing much. Sooner or later, 'unnamed sources' need to be named. At this stage, substituting 'unnamed government officials' doesn't really help. They might as well say 'unnamed Hillary Clinton supporters.' Or, just as likely 'the reporter sitting next to me.' Sooner or later, even inattentive people notice the sickening smell of the elitist media's contempt for anyone not of their class, for the franchise, and for the truth."

Trump vs. the Democrats: Aces Galore!

We have a winner!...
At AmericanThinker.com, Elad Hakim summarizes his post with this:
"Although this piece only covers several issues, many would argue that the set and match ended long ago. Democrats are suffering losses everywhere, including in the courts, within their own party (e.g. the #WalkAway movement), and in the important court of public opinion. Americans want results, which the president and Republicans are delivering. So long as this continues, it should be game, set, and match for the president, Republicans, and their followers."

New Technologies Nurturing Big Brother

"Big Brother" is no longer the benevolent protector...
In his American Thinker post, Daniel Grynglas discusses this and more:
"The overreaching government has exerted ever growing control over public school curricula, and it even tells us what we should eat (NYC has banned sodas over 16 ounces).

Some of these government initiatives are well meaning, like forcing restaurants to post calorie counts of meals, but teaching students what to think instead of how to think is a scary tendency.

In medical services, the government is already playing a major role and wants to expand it into single-payer, total government control.

The U.K. case of medical bureaucratic euthanasia of little Alfie Evans sends chills down one's spine. All this amounts to ever growing intrusion into our private lives. "

Dumb Energy

Makes sense to me...

Norman Rogers began his American Thinker post with this:
"Wind and solar electricity are renewable energy. How nice to pluck energy out of the air and the sky.

It's a scam. Big money men and screwball dreamers, otherwise called environmentalists, are behind the scam.

Apparently, it has not dawned on the believers in the scam that solar does not work at night, and wind works only when the wind is blowing. The core characteristic of wind and solar is that they are erratic sources of electricity. The supply is randomly intermittent. Who in Hell thinks this dumb energy is a good way to supply electricity?"

Trump is Winning Over Blacks, Hispanics, Millennials, and Even Gays

Walkaway!...
At AmericanThinker.com, Karin McQuillan writes about what has become a "movement":
"Ordinary people, including our minorities, are focused on the reality of their lives. Most Americans actually care about exactly the two big issues Trump cares about: jobs and personal safety. They notice more money in their paychecks.

They notice when they get off food stamps and the unemployment line. They notice when they move from flipping hamburgers to a high-paying construction or assembly-line jobs. Securing our border, supporting cops, defeating ISIS in Syria, pressuring North Korea to 'denuke' -- ordinary people get that we are safer than we were under Obama. Democrats can scream as loud as they want, but they cannot drown out reality."

The Left’s Newest Star Is None Too Bright

This "darling" of the Democrats is going to be fun to watch...
At Spectator.org, David Catron began his post about her with this:
"ince her surprise primary victory over 10-term Congressman Joe Crowley in New York’s 14th District, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been promoted by the legacy media as the prototype of a new generation of young progressives destined to replace the leadership of the Democratic Party. Unfortunately for her media boosters, however, she keeps blowing her lines. It’s not just her rote advocacy of single-payer healthcare and guaranteed government jobs, or even that she backs wacky ideas like abolishing ICE and occupying airports — Ocasio-Cortez is genuinely clueless. She outed herself, in several recent interviews, as functionally illiterate in economics, international relations, and history."

The Biggest Threat to America's Future Is the Media

Every day, the liberal media exposes their bias and agenda.
And every day, more Americans see it clearly...
This is part of a recent post by Rick Hayes at AmericanThinker.com:
"It's hard to imagine that the news organizations we have all grown up with and trusted all our lives are now actively undermining our system of government and using their far-reaching influence to divide the population in their effort to control better. With the full assistance of the media, the leftist plan to alter America's course from a free to a significantly oppressed society has become more of a reality. Continuous and relentless leftist propaganda distributed by the media most certainly has an impact on the American psyche. It is the deliberate intention of the media to successfully elevate the fringe leftist element in America and demonize all types of speech and opinion that run counter to the leftist program.

The media can no longer hide behind the benign image of a sometimes left-leaning communications entity because they have exposed themselves for what indeed they are: active participants in the dismantling of traditional American values. Anything short of acknowledging this realization is dealing with the self-defeating activity of self-deception."

Bill Gates Doesn’t Get It

The more I read, the more I embrace the "old fashioned" ways...
At Spectator.org, Jane Robbins reviews what has been going on in the world of education:
"How many other education 'reformers' can afford to be so clueless?

We’re told that students must have grit, tenacity, and perseverance to succeed in the 21st-century economy, and that schools should spend more time instilling those characteristics than actually teaching academic content. The poster boy for GT&P could be Bill Gates.

After wasting many years and billions of dollars on remaking American education in his own image, Gates is undeterred. True, his small-schools project crashed and burned. True, the Common Core standards that he spent boatloads of money developing and marketing have led to reduced academic achievement and are roundly despised by parents and teachers. True, despite pumping billions into classroom technology — replacing human teachers with machines — 'we really haven’t changed [students’ academic] outcomes.' But he remains optimistic that the education establishment and parents will overlook his miserable record and embrace his new venture: telling us what curricula our schools should use."

They never paid any taxes, neither in Russian army in the United States and yet the money escaped the country, they were transferred to the United States,' Putin said. 'They sent huge amount of money -- $400 million -- as a contribution to the campaign of Hillary Clinton. The review was based on sentencing reports between January 2016 and May 2017 and the figures have increased. The perpetrators were from Macedonia, Somalia, Bulgaria, Iraq and Eritrea. It is commonly know that Africa has a higher rate of sexual assaults than other areas of the world. These were also rapes where the victim did not know the attacker, which in Europe was more rare."

Mr. Gutfeld presents a substantially good argument...
Greg Gutfeld offered this in a post at RealClearPolitics.com:
"All right, let's take an inventory. Unemployment nonexistent, check. GDP soaring, check. Trade imbalance addressed, check. Nuclear threat reduced, check. Terror seems at bay, check. Things are looking up and why is that?

If only the flag had arms to hug him back. It feels like a good run for everyone. It is. Satisfaction with the country's direction has reached a 12-year high while trust in the mainstream media drops to another low, which could be why the press has gone nuttier than an elephant's diarrhea. U.S. Poised to Surpass Saudi Arabia as World's Top Crude Oil Producer

Old saying: Whoever Has the Gold, Makes the Rules"...
At Breitbart.com, Simon Kent reported these astounding statistics:
"Soaring domestic production levels means the U.S. is ready to pass both Saudi Arabia and Russia to reclaim the title of the world’s biggest crude oil producer. It last held that position in 1974.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration made the forecast and predicts that U.S. output will grow next year to 11.8 million barrels a day. The rise comes on the back of U.S. innovation in the field of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, and horizontal drilling.

As a consequence, American oil imports could drop as low as 1.6 million barrels a day, which would be the lowest level since 1958."

The Incredible Scam of Rooftop Solar

Rooftop solar is another "feel good" thing for individuals.
The reality is in the grand scheme of things it costs others in many subtle ways...
At AmericanThinker.com, Norman Rogers explains why it's a scam:
"The homeowner gets to displace power from the power company, and if the homeowner has more power than he needs, the power company is obligated to purchase it, often for the same retail price at which it sells electricity. That policy is called net metering. In order to accommodate the homeowner's electric power, the utility has to throttle down some other power plant that produces power at a lower wholesale price."

D.C. Servers Beg City to "Save Our Tips"

Might things be better if elected officials did nothing?...
On the American Spectator website Andrew Wilford reported on this:
"It’s become a common experience for me as a denizen of The Swamp to see these signs whenever I go to a restaurant or bar in the nation’s capital. Outside groups are trying to subject D.C. servers to a minimum wage that would actually cause wages to go down, as well as harming employment, by ending the tipped wage system.

D.C. servers aren’t having it. Ever since a New York-based group managed to insert Initiative 77 onto the ballot, restaurant workers have had their noses to the grindstone trying to stop it from passing. The Save Our Tips campaign has made a difference—signs and t-shirts advertising the campaign have become ubiquitous in D.C. establishments. "

The caveat is that they want us to trust them to keep it secure...
This story is by Clark Fouraker on the CBS New York website:

Utilities don’t just learn how much power you use; they can also be alerted in real-time to an outage caused by bad weather. The smart meter’s ability to talk back to the utility has some people concerned information about their lifestyle and habits at home could fall into the wrong hands, CBS2’s Fouraker reported."

A North Slope oil discovery already called huge just got bigger, company says

Don't let anyone tell you that we are running out of oil...
Writing for the Anchorage Daily News, Alex DeMarban recently reported on this:
"'We have a lot of confidence in what they're doing there, so we're comfortable with what they're saying in their announcement,' he said. Houseknecht, the USGS geologist, said that based on the very limited data he has seen so far, primarily from Repsol's announcement, the oil at Horseshoe and in the Pikka Unit to the north appear to be the same pool of oil.

If that is correct, the discovery could be the largest onshore discovery in Alaska since Kuparuk River oil field on the North Slope in 1969, now operated by ConocoPhillips. One of the largest fields in North America, Kuparuk has produced about 2.3 billion barrels of oil. It is expected to produce more than 3 billion barrels before its life ends, he said. Repsol's estimate that its play could yield 1.2 billion barrels of oil would make it bigger than the Alpine field, discovered in 1994. Houseknecht said that field will ultimately produce, by his estimates, about 750 million barrels of oil.

'"You have to go back several decades to find a bigger North American oil discovery on shore' than the one Repsol is claiming, he said."

EXCLUSIVE: There’s No Evidence Nevada Democratic Senate Candidate’s Touted Business Ever Existed

And she is running to be a United States Senator?...
At DailyCaller.com, Joe Simonson is reporting this:
"Nevada has no records Rep. Jacky Rosen ever ran a small business in Nevada, despite her repeated claims that she started a consulting firm, according to documents obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Rosen, a Democrat, is challenging Republican Sen. Dean Heller for his seat in the upcoming November election and is considered former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s handpicked successor.

In April, a public records request was filed with the Nevada secretary of state seeking a copy of any “Sole Proprietor Exemption” or “Sole Proprietor Registration” under Rosen or her maiden name between 1995 and 2005.

Less than a week later, a public information officer from the Nevada secretary of state responded in an email that no such records existed. Those registrations are necessary for any business owners in Nevada."

Those Who Live by the Court...

The selection of judges is VERY important...
In his American Thinker article, Tom Trinko explains why:
"Not one of the socially revolutionary changes that leftists have inflicted on America has been a result of the democratic process. Among the core leftist issues that have been imposed on the American people by the unelected judges are:

1) Coddling criminals and throwing away valid physical evidence based on technicalities
2) Legalizing pornography
3) Legalizing abortion for any reason at any point in the pregnancy
4) Redefining marriage
5) Saving an unconstitutional ObamaCare by declaring that what the law said were fees and which the politicians who passed the bill said were fees were actually taxes
6) Declaring that religion has to be excluded from the public square while atheism was allowed to stay there

Without activist judges who betrayed their oaths and America by imposing their personal beliefs on America, leftists would have made little or no progress imposing their vision."

The Boy Crisis, The Dad Solution

I think we all know about this problem. But, what to do?...
At Townhall.com, Rachel Alexander recently posted about this:
"For Father’s Day, I interviewed Dr. Warren Farrell, co-author (with John Gray of Mars/Venus fame) of the just-published “The Boy Crisis.” While Dr. Farrell identifies ten causes of the boy crisis, he found that by far the biggest cause is a lack of father involvement. He explains why children who have minimal or no father involvement (who are 'dad deprived') suffer in more than 70 different areas in comparison to children who are 'dad-enriched.'

Farrell says the boy crisis is global. Among the 60 largest developed nations, boys are falling behind girls in every academic area, as well as in social skills, career preparation, mental health and physical health. He found that in developed nations, with fewer survival concerns, there was less stigma for women to have children without being married. In the U.S., for example, 53 percent of women under 30 who have children are not married. Among these women, dad-deprived children are the norm. Dad-deprived girls suffer considerably, but the boys (with no role model) suffer even more."

BSA Scouts out New Condom Policy

Something has gone seriously wrong with the "Boy" Scouts...
I found this a while back on Tony Perkins' Washington Update page:
"What kind of fire are the Boy Scouts teaching kids to start? Angry parents want to know now that the organization is making condoms an official part of its World Jamboree. Almost five years to the day that it threw open doors to homosexuality, BSA leaders are making their leftward lurch complete with the announcement that birth control would be provided at their next 12-day jamboree where 12- to 17-year-olds will convene.

A document from the three-country planning committee is making the rounds -- and the hosts of the West Virginia event have an interesting mandate. Jamboree organizers must now guarantee that 'condoms are readily and easily accessible for all participants and IST [staff] at a number of locations on the site. Heads of contingent must be informed in advance and made aware of their responsibility in communicating this policy to their participants, unit leaders, and IST in an appropriate way.' While drug possession and/or alcohol consumption is forbidden for minors, sexual encounters are not."

TIME Magazine's Shocking Cover Is A Total Lie. No Wonder Americans Don't Trust The Media.

Time Magazine equals liberal media on display...
On the Daily Wire website, Ben Shapiro offered his opinion and the facts:
"There’s only one problem: the cover is total bull. It’s not just total bull because Trump hasn’t implemented a newly-developed policy of separating children from parents – that’s an operation of law under the Flores settlement as modified by a 2016 Ninth Circuit court ruling. It’s bull because this particular child wasn’t separated from her mother, her mother wasn’t fleeing persecution but did falsely claim asylum, her mother did put the child in danger, and Trump was targeted by the media for treating this mother and child exactly the same way the Obama administration would have.

Here’s the real story."

U.S. really did have Manchurian Candidate in White House

This writer has a lot to say...
On the Washington Times website, L. Todd Wood offered this and more:
"ANALYSIS/OPINION:

After returning from a tour of some of the war zones in the Middle East — which ended with the Free Iran Gathering 2018 in Paris — I am struck by the realization that America really did have a Manchurian Candidate in The White House for eight years. If you look at the evidence, there really is no other conclusion. The calamitous consequences of the Obama presidency will be felt for the foreseeable future.

In the short year and a half that President Trump has been in office, he has put in place policy that has mitigated the damage that President Obama inflicted on our national security and on our allies. The speed with which Trump has been able to turn things around points to the diabolical depths the Obama administration went to in order to undermine our national strength and way of life. All Trump had to do was stop doing things that hurt America; America could then take care of itself. The results are plain as day. However, it will take decades for the Obama damage to be completely undone. The deviousness of the Obama sedition runs deep."

Republicans are better for the black community than Democrats.
Unfortunately, the Democratic machine and their media cohorts suppress that truth...
Star Parker includes this in her recent post at Townhall.com:
"The Democratic Party is delivering more candidates around the nation like Stacey Abrams, recently nominated for governor in Georgia. She's unabashedly boilerplate, in-your-face, hard left. Pro-big government, pro-abortion, pro-LGBT rights.

Recent Wall Street Journal/NBC polling shows how the Democratic Party has changed. In 2004, 67 percent of Democrats identified as moderate or conservative and 31 percent identified as liberal. In 2018, we see a shift to the left of 20 points. Forty-seven percent identify as moderate or conservative and 51 percent as liberal.

Amidst all this, what might we expect from blacks, Democrats' most consistent voting bloc? In 14 presidential elections since 1964, Democratic candidates captured an average 88 percent of the black vote. But blacks generally don't fit the new far-left profile."

Unsafe levels of toxic chemicals found in drinking water of 33 states

For decades now, there has been no shortage of studies on clean air and water.
Here's another for what it's worth...
I found this article Steve Johnson on the Harvard Gazette website:
"The study found that PFASs were detectable at the minimum reporting levels required by the EPA in 194 out of 4,864 water supplies in 33 states across the United States. Drinking water from 13 states accounted for 75 percent of the detections: California, New Jersey, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Georgia, Minnesota, Arizona, Massachusetts, and Illinois, in order of frequency of detection."

The Corruption of Social Justice

I think the Rabbi is spot on...
Recently, at Spectator.org, Rabbi Aryeh Spero included this paragraph in his article on social justice:
"Most of what passes today for social justice is actually the Marxist/Marcuse/Gramsci leftist playbook wrapped in appealing religious phraseology and platitudes, a framework for never-ceasing revolution and rebellion. It sees its mission fulfilled through constant class warfare, be it economic, racial, gender, or sexual warfare. It confers upon itself a mantle of moral high ground but, in fact, is not a moral category at all, rather a political category. Furthermore, it dangerously overturns classic morality by redefining morality downward and leftward."

The Diversity Staff at the University of Michigan Is Nearly 100 People

Problem is:
These overhead expenses are included in tuition which is financed by student loans...
In Jon Miltimore's article at Intellectual Takeout, you'll find this and more:
"There are various reasons for surging costs, but the primary one is the remarkable expansion of university administration in recent decades. As Paul Campos, a law professor at the University of Colorado, wrote in the New York Times a few years ago:

'According to the Department of Education data, administrative positions at colleges and universities grew by 60 percent between 1993 and 2009, which Bloomberg reported was 10 times the rate of growth of tenured faculty positions.

Even more strikingly, an analysis by a professor at California Polytechnic University, Pomona, found that, while the total number of full-time faculty members in the C.S.U. system grew from 11,614 to 12,019 between 1975 and 2008, the total number of administrators grew from 3,800 to 12,183 — a 221 percent increase.'"

Higher Education “Gender Gap” Favors Women -- Feminization of Everything Fails Boys

In my opinion, this entire article is spot on and should be shared...
Here is one paragraph from a David French article as posted on the National review website:
"Our society is unlearning masculinity, it’s feminizing every stage of male life, and boys are paying a steep price. Consider the feminization of the home — occurring on two fronts simultaneously. First, and most important, the dissolution of the family brings increased fatherlessness, and for all of our culture’s single-mom worship (and moms’ sometimes — but not always — heroic efforts to fill the gap), boys need dads. It’s that simple. Men and women in general have different roles to play in their kids’ lives, and a boy sees in a good dad the fruits of properly channeled and properly lived masculinity. He has a model, often a hero, who lives in the closest possible proximity."

Why Isn't Personal Finance Taught in the Public School System?

Well, the obvious answer is they are too busy teaching other "crap"...
Larry Alton recently wrote aabout it at AmericanThinker.com:
"The average American has an abysmally low personal finance IQ, yet the public school system continues to ignore the importance of educating students in this key area of life. Why is this? And when will things change?"

The Number of Sealed Indictments is very, very high

This graphic shows 40,483 sealed Federal indictments across the United States.
As a point of reference, there were 1,077 in ALL of 2006.
Some say, this is indicative of something BIG going to happen...

Viral ‘Walk Away’ Videos Highlight Growing Movement of Democrats Leaving the Party

"The truth shall set you free".
Looks like the Democrat Party is in a bit of trouble...

This was part of a post by Celia Farber on the Epoch Times website:
"Some 5 million people on Facebook and YouTube have seen the video by now. A very handsome gay man, who you just assume is about to scold you on progressive talking points, instead says this:

'Once upon a time, I was a liberal. Well, to be honest, less than a year ago, I was still a liberal.

'I reject a system which allows an ambitious, misinformed and dogmatic mob to suppress free speech, create false narratives, and apathetically steamroll over the truth.'

And then this devastating line—the Rosa Parks moment of the video:

'I reject hate.'

If Democratic strategists were still able to watch the rest of the video without suffering a nervous breakdown, they’d see that it quickly got worse."

The Amazing Psychology of Japanese Train Stations

Clearly, this is different than in the United States...
Allan Richarz recently posted about them at CityLab.com:
"To the casual observer, it is chaos; commuters packed shoulder-to-shoulder amid the constant clatter of arriving and departing trains. But a closer look reveals something more beneath the surface: A station may be packed, yet commuters move smoothly along concourses and platforms. Platforms are a whirl of noisy activity, yet trains maintain remarkable on-time performance. Indeed, the staggering punctuality of the Japanese rail system occasionally becomes the focus of international headlines—as on May 11, when West Japan Railways issued a florid apology after one of its commuter trains left the station 25 seconds early."

University of California trains med students how to pressure religious women to get abortions

I know it's California, but for heavens sake...
Greg Piper reported about this on The College Fix website:
"Strategies for convincing ‘ambivalent patients’ Does your patient 'believe that life begins at conception and that abortion is an act of murder'? Here’s how to get them to go through with an abortion anyway."
