It's ALL about re-election
I'm sure it's always been this way; but, never so obvious.
Elected officials are only concerned with one thing, and we delude ourselves that they have the good of their constituents at heart...

At Townhall.com, Steve McCann writes about a couple of them:
"President Obama has become the personification of political expediency and cynicism as his ego and vanity allow him to say or do anything in order to win re-election irrespective of the short or long-term well-being of the American people.
He is not alone. In Germany they too have a leader who feels no compunction in doing whatever it takes to win re-election regardless of the impact on the country's economy and future."
