Oil Production helps the environment
Here's an old press release from the University of California that basically says that drilling for oil under the sea reduces pressure that in turn reduces seepage which pollutes the ocean.
It's a significant amount, so ironically, by preventing oil drilling, seepage just continues to pollute.
Go figure. And don't expect the media to ever report this...

It's all in this University of California report:
"We've done a good piece of science," said Luyendyk. "We've developed a good understanding of a natural process. It's all public data; it's all straightforward. If I thought the study was compromised I wouldn't be involved in it."
