Global Warming - at a standstill?
This seems much too logical for anyone to understand...
Lord Nigel Lawson writes at the Science & Public Policy Institute:
"Given that nowadays pretty well every adverse development in the natural world is automatically attributed to global warming, perhaps the most surprising fact about it is that it is not, in fact, happening at all. The truth is that there has so far been no recorded global warming at all this century.
The world's temperature rose about half a degree centigrade during the last quarter of the 20th century; but even the Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research - part of Britain's Met Office and a citadel of the current global warming orthodoxy - has now conceded that recorded temperature figures for the first seven years of the 21st century reveal there has been a standstill.
The centre now officially expects global warming to resume at some point between 2009 and 2014.
Maybe it will. But the fact that the present lull was not predicted by any of the complex computer models upon which the global warming orthodoxy relies is clear evidence that the science of what determines the world's temperature is distinctly uncertain and far from 'settled'."

According to a research the poorest people in the world’s poorest countries will suffer the earliest and the most from climate change, according to this year’s edition of the Environmental Review. The report says that, due to their geographical location, low incomes, and low institutional capacity, as well as their greater reliance on climate-sensitive sectors like agriculture, the poorest countries and people are suffering earliest and are poised to suffer most.

I would not disagree with the point of your comment. My skepticism about global warming as expressed on this blog is multi-reasoned.
One is that the debate as to whether it is human caused is NOT over and it is certainly not "science".
Secondly, it is being hyped by people who have been known to hype things in the past, and worse yet, transparently look to gain financially from the fight. against it.
Additionally, I've read that carbon dioxide follows warming, rather than preceding and causing it.
And then there is the sun. I read that Mars is warming also, and that speaks volumes to my logical side.
Hopefully, due diligence will eventually get the right answers, and then, we can react wisely to resolve any issues that can be resolved.
